usb ports

Have been trying to get my USB ports working Soltek K8AN2E Motherboard. If I set as 1.1 support it tries to recognise the device but doesn't load. if set to 1.1 + 2.0 then doesn't do anything.
Have noticed that other people are having problems with USB devices but most of them seem to be cutting out.

I'm having a *little* more luck on my Gigabyte GAK8N-PRO SLI motherboard.
With 1.1 + 2.0 only the keyboard and mouse work... all other devices try to install but fail
Disabling 2.0 in BIOS (i.e. only 1.1 support) allows me to use all my other devices: external disks, camera, scanner, printer etc.
nvidia Drivers not ready?
